The 9th International E-business Expo was held in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou from Aug 3 to 5, local media outlets reported.
Themed around New E-commerce, New Pattern, and New Advantages, the expo was participated in by over 300 fashion, new retail sale, and cosmetics brands, as well as a number of multi-channel network companies, livestream hosts, online platforms, and livestream service providers seeking new business opportunities.
Xiaoshan, a district with distinctive e-commerce capabilities, worked together with the industrial giant Alibaba on a local agricultural product booth at the expo.
“We’ve received quite a large number of livestream hosts, factories and distributors for business cooperation,” said a staff member at the booth. “We will continue to screen cooperation partners after the expo and strive to have agricultural products from Xiaoshan reach out to customers in more remote areas.”
Xiaoshan district and Alibaba have in recent years enjoyed cooperative ties in online agricultural product businesses. Their platform has resulted in more than 100 enterprises setting up operations in the district, generating total sales revenue of over 50 million yuan ($7.41 million).
Statistics show that Xiaoshan registered online retail sales revenue of 136.37 billion yuan in 2021, growing 5.5 percent year on year.
