The Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo high-speed railway has been signed into effect and will start construction this year.
The trains will be able to run at speeds of up to 350km/h on the 310-kilometer-long railway, which will not go through Hangzhou but is connected to the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed railway via a special line, cutting the travel time from Hangzhou to Suzhou to less than an hour.
